Basically, I think a majority of ARR songs do appeal to the older generation, except for his fast numbers.
By older generation, I am talking about those 45+.
30+ people en kooda sandaikku vanthidaatheenga. :)

mm.....speaking of ARR-Nithyashree songs do u think Manmatha maasam wud appeal?? .... i have the slightest of feelings that it wudnt....what say??

I am in my early 30s but would definitely consider myself to belong to the older generation as far as TFM is concerned since I dislike quite a number of ARR's songs!
in no particular order
roja roja (KD)
enna vilai azhagey (KD)
Nila Kaigirathu (Indra)
Vellai Pookal (KM)
the list is not comprehensive and is all IMO. I might have missed some that I like.

Are people just a little younger than ARR considered young or old ? :) I am not necessarily fond of rhythm numbers..they are okay to listen in the background but I will sit and listen only to good melodies. One such song which ARR has done while doing a fantastic one is - poongkARRilE un ..from uyirE..ofcourse the fast number I am referring to is thaiya thaiya..

To add to kiru's song - some of the melodies (soothing I may add) which have only a basic rhythm that ARR has given and the ones which I like are the following. I guess I belong to kiru's generation. Call me old or new:-)
Thoda thoda malarndhadhenna (Indira)
En mael vizhinda (May maadham)
En kaadhalae (Duet)
Theendai (En swaasa kaatrae)

Interesting thread, cosmo.
U can't really judge wat old generation wud like. My conservative dad, who is 55, likes even No Problem. Of course he wont go out of his way to listen to it, but enjoys it when he hears them.
among many more...
