MKT's unbelievable swaram singing in Rajan Maharajan inspired me to start this thread. KJY has a given some wonderful swaram singing in the film 'oruvar vaazhum aalayam'. SJ's singara vElanE Deva is a definite candidate.

Kindly listen to the early 1950s song sung by MLV and P leela in 'Manamagal', set to tunes by C R Subbaraman. The song is' Ellam Inba Mayam' in the raga 'Simhendramadyamam' and the elaborate swara singing by both the singers is outstanding, perhaps the best in TFM. Then there are swara sung by TMS in that dance no (I forget the song) in 'Iru Malargal. It's superb.

sRamaswamy: No doubt, the "Ellam Inba mayam" is a high point in swara singing in TFM. More recently , have you heard BMK's in Mrudanga Chakravarty. Really, breathtaking. Another impressive one is by Radha Jayalakshmi in "Maname Muruganin" And there are many, many more.
