Now this will shut off the mindless people who dare to have thought abt IR differently.
“By Indian standards, I’ve hardly been prolific. Ilaiyaraja sir did 500 films in 10 years. He was a phenomenon, he was amazing. I’ve done just 56-60 films in that span.”
Eschewing any form of rivalry, he emphasises, “No no, please Ilaiyaraja sir can never be replaced. I’ve learnt a lot from his school like the basic virtue of discipline."
"We met at a function recently and he was very warm with me.”

I don't think there is really any rival feeling
between Raja and Rahman. It's only the media's
hype and people's speculations. There are many other things that Rahman said
about Raja and viceversa. ARR complains that in
many interviews he has praised Raja, but the media
always censors those particular words in their final report.
Raja has also praised ARR saying that ARR's isaignaanam is
commendable. And each of them know the others' sterngths.
IR is a genius of music. ARR is a wonderboy of modern times.
We want both of them. We love both of them. Knowledge is not
a single man's property.
