Kanchana i think she did sing for onnum onnum rendu.

NOV I dont think u need to be born in 1950s to write abt old singers(sir enakku innum 25 thandalai). We didnt
hear her voice much bcoz LRE took her position. Even now she has a very good voice(she gives a lot
of light music concerts)
Anyway i thot of starting another list on PLeela
and Jikki. Anyone interested to contribute?

Ramki - I am sorry if I gave you that impression. Actually what I meant to say was that I grew up listening first to TMS & PS and then SPB & gang songs. I have great respect for Jamuna Rani, Jikki and so forth - I even know many of the songs listed above, but I may not be of much help in recollecting any.
IMO Jikki and JRani still sound pleasant compared to PS and sometimes even SJ. I really don't understand why they don't get chances to sing nowadays.

Also, there is another song in Kaidhi Kaannaayiram (I think) with Seerkazhi:
kaadhalai yaethukka paarthukkalaam paarthukkalaam
kanniyar manadhai ?????
The song starts with a fast humming by seerkazhi & JR, the tune of which is repeated later in the interludes with words like kodukka vaa vaa vaa, edukka vaa vaa vaa, mudikka vaa vaa vaa vaa vaa. The video features Thangavelu & Rajasulochana.
(I'm sorry for the multiple postings, but these songs have to be retrieved from the archives of my memory; the retrieval, as you can see, is not very systematic.)

Kanchana 'mayakkum maalai'is by Jikki.Yes 'aadhi manidhan'was by her and also 'athikkai kai kai'.
But im not sure abt the remaining songs.Btw was

Saw "Mannadhi Mannan" video to collect some JR songs for this querry. JR has 3 songs in the movie, PS has 3 or 4, MLV has 2 songs and P.Leela has 1 or 2 songs. MD: TKR-MSV. Lyrics: Kannadhasan & Marudhakasi.
JR's songs:

3. neeyoa naanoa vennilavae
1 & 2 are fast-paced group songs. 3 is a beautiful, melodious song with PS & PBS. PBS sings for MGR, PS for Padmini & JR for Anjalidevi.
pakkathilae kanni ponn irukku picturization: Thangavelu riding a scooter and M.Saroja in the scooter's side-car. Anyone remembers this? movie? singers?

I love that song too. I wonder why kanngaL irandum was the hit from Mannadhi Mannan, while this melodious song by PBS/PS/JR faded into obscurity. If you wish, I'll be happy to tape this song (either in audio or video) and send it to you. Let me know.

Kanchana and Ramki:
I also love neeyO naanO yaar nilavE. The
song was not a hit, probably because PBS's voice
didn't fit MGR well? I recorded a whole bunch of
songs having nilaa, nilavu, chandhran etc.
last year when conducting MIME 15, and recorded
this one too. I keep listening to it again and
again. The song is rarely played by the radio
stations!

Thanks for clarifying the movies. The song kazhaniyilae nellurangum is the same as the songaatril meen urangum I'd mentioned above. The video shows Rajasulochana.
The Kaveri song from Mannadhi Mannan is by P.Leela.

kettadhu kidaikkum from veerath thirumagan is by LRE.
I like this song from Kulebagaavali -- it was the best I liked when I saw the movie when I was a kid -- sorry can't remember the song.
Another song in which Jamuna Rani excels PS is Aadak Kanbadhu Kaaveri VeLLam from Vaazhkkai VaazhvadharkE.
