Guys: There seems to be lot of unrelated postings in this thread. This has nothing to do with IR's Symphony Release date. Please let us discuss IR Vs any other MD in a different thread. If any one has information regarding Symphony Release Date, it will be highly appreciated if you could share in this thread.

Moved to read the octagenarian critic's, Mr Subbudu's, comments in an article (Vikatan) yesterday...after mentioning Mandolin Srinivas as the best of the century in the classical area, he concludes the article with the following lines(Those who are turned off by transliteration, please jump to my so-so translation that follows):
"katturai neendu vittadhu. ezhudha evvalavO irukkiRadhu. en vayadhu eNbaththu nAlai nerungi vittadhu. idhaRkkidaiyil irandu raNa sikichchaikal en vAzhkkaiyil. enakkuLLa `chinna chinna Asai' onRE onRu dhAn. en kadaisi moochchukku mun, IlaiyarAjAvin symphony kEtka vENdum!
niraivERumA?"
Translation:
"A long article. Still there's a lot more to write. I'm nearing 84. Meanwhile, I underwent two surgeries in my life. I have only one wish now, a small wish at that...before my last breath, I want to listen to IlayarAja's symphony!
Will it be fulfilled?"

Just an aside about Subbudu..
He seems to be one who even takes mishaps in
a jolly fashion. The first surgery happened to
be an unnecessary one.. and that mistaken
surgery led to a necessary second one! It was all
the faults of medical surgeons that he went
through hell of an agony and pain for some time.
Yet, a few months ago he wrote a long jovial
article in Vikatan about all that stuff he
went through.

I apologize if i have broken your sentiments. That comment indeed triggered out of my blithe disposition, certainly frivolous! I render a high regard for symphony just as you do , especially from IR whose illustrious work is something we can all be proud of.

Dear ALL,
I am the greatest fan of "ILLAYA-MAHARAAJA" oh! yes I mean it from the utmost depth of my heart!!! I am a small time guitarist hailing from hyderabad Believe me that I am not a learned guitarist but life has taught me to the music of my life & believe me "ILLAYA-MAHARAAJA" is the blood of my musical life I think without him my life would have been pale.
We r the people who just grew up on listening to illaya-maharaaja's tunes,symphonies,jazzy various,infinite melodious,& u name it what not!!!! he is "all in all" nothing can come near him for his majestic simplicity for what has great being in him is.
I was very very lucky to witness him at a tribute given to Sir.M.S. Vishvanatham Guru sponsored & organised by Mr. S.P.Balu garu was fully soul stirring to witness the greatest event of all times in my life my just was just bubbling with happiness for the man i grew up more ...was unbelievable it was just toooo much.... I just thanked MY ALMIGHTY LORD JESUS for that auspisicious event having witnessed over my entire life!!! I really feel that it is a life time achievement for me more than words!!!
And believe me "illaya-maharaaja" himself was invited on the dias to grace afew words which he really is!!! I am fortunate to witness his voice also with pleasure!! I am lucky enough to witness all the greats like MRS.S.Janaki garu and many more.....(greats)
So, dear IR freaks consider this as a small praise to my Maestro for all times & we should feel very very lucky that we hail from the generation of that RAAJA's kingdom & i am just a soldier in the great kingdom of his...
