Now that VM's lyrics are making a difference in
all other MDs' composition, it is clear that
ARR's success - the maximum credit should go
to Vairamuthu. Though ARR's peppy songs became popular, it is only VM's superb lyrics that earned
laurels for ARR among the real TFM rasigars.
How long can ARR survive without VM's lyrics
to earn accolades from "real" rasigars..?
May be he can use Vaali... but others.. cannot bring
the kind of superb songs of VM+ARR combo.

I beg to disagree with this theory.
In present scenario of music making in films the importance of lyricists is less(IMHO). ARR would have still been similar super hit had VM not associated with him.
In my opinion except very few songs, after his comeback i.e. advent of ARR, VM's lyrics are hype. I'm sorry to say the harsh word that VM, at present, is just a spent force having a heavy backup[;-)] and hence being hyped a lot.
If that is the case YSR would not have come to even this stage(what he is now, i.e. a major contender to top 1 notch) because YSR is not associated with VM or for that matter any particular lyricist and still he is a successful MD. So would be the case of ARR.
