I also want to mention that the songs of Thenkaasi Pattinam had a lot of resemblance to IR songs.

Well, he had some decent songs in his "pop-album",'Minnal' and even re-used one of them in 'Coolie'. I think it was 'Vaa Maane Vaa thaenae' in Minnal, sung by S.Peters and Anupama and in fact, the better version. Malaysia Vasudevan & Swarnalatha sang the filmi version, 'Poo Poova poothirrukku'. Worse than the singing was the picturisation...Sarath Kumar and Gundu Meena.
SPeters had another album out sometime later, forget its name though.

you can download all songs from MINNAL at COOLGOOSE.com. IF anyone knows where I can get OVIUM , please let me know.
I believe SUresh Peters composed CHIKBUKKRAILE and URWASI URWASI... Or maybe RAHMAN contributed a lot to MINNAL too.... But, I Certainly know one thing that, IF RAHMAN dint happen, Suresh would have had much more notice.
