I heard ilayaraja's new movie S.track Devadai.
Has three pleasent number's with his own
unimitable. Instrument's are sleezy with good
orchestration. Janaki's solo stands
apart like "kannan vanthu padukiran ..."
kind of song.
It also has a unworthy song by karthikraja
(may be his own music) like a pop song
with heavy synthesisers ala late 80's pop.
Some 'theru koothu' kind of song is also
there. All together looks like score for
movie sake, not much for audio sale.
Director is none other than Nasser, has got
nice set of songs for his film.

Yes, I listened to Raman Abdullah. There are SIX songs of which two are excellent ("pudithaay paadum" by Chitra and "muthamizhe.." by SPB). There is a duet (by Bhavatharini & Arunmozhi) and solo by SPB are good. The last two are really "janaranjaga" songs..One of them sung by Nagoor Anifa and Malgudi Subha.

Pudhidhaay and muthamizhe in Raman Abdullah are good numbers by the maestro.

Thambi Gangai Amaran's movie. Supposed
to have nice songs. What about Punnyavathi?

Un perai kettale and Paappaa roopa dhilrubaa are two good songs in the movie pooncholai. The Paappa
song is a fast one and the former being a melodious one.

There is one more beautiful,excellent ,marvellous song in poonjolai. The Song 'gaana kuyile kannurakkam ponadhadi'is one of the best songs i have heard in recent times. There are 3 versions of the same song...one version sung by Bhavatharani and Unnikrishnan,second by SPB and Bhava and third by Raja himself. SPB(needless to say)excels and Unnik does justice also. bhava shows good improvement. Lyrics(Gangai Amaren?)is also good. In total a treat to all our 'nalla pattu ketkamma kaanjupona' ears.

Look at Devadhai. Illayaraja in his hep mood/
S Janaki after a long and long gap delivers a
great song. The violins in this song portray
the confidence Raja has over the musical
form. Karthik Raja sings Enge En Kadali
with jest. I liked the Raja's Duet with Kavitha
Krishnamurthy. It is a nice album with good
music.

En veetu jannal etti in Raman Abdullah is pretty good. The lyrics (by Mu.Mehta) are also very good. Chitra should have sung the song instead of Bavatharini (though Bavatharini does a decent job of it).
BTW, how old is Bavatharini ? I think she along with Yuvan Shankar (Karthik Raja too ?) sang first in Anjali.

I listened to thalaivar mottai avrgal's devadhai.
If u watch the movie,the title score (towards the end of the movie) was enchanting.It's of a "symphony's" quality.
in r.abdulla enveettu jannal.....is also worth mentioning.
About the folk song in devadai,One should watch (the situation)the song before commenting anything
bad on it .

Devadai - Excellent BGM & 2 great songs.
R.Abdulla - 3 good songs .
Guys jus listen to thalivar's "GURU"(malayalam)Mahanlal's, it is jus sensational.
Of late his "Kadalaku Mariyadhai" - excellent songs.
