Private albums and music videos are the best way for an upcoming music director or a singer in any music industry, be it Tamil, Telugu or Hindi. Even an established singer or a music director can choose to do an album from drowing into just film music. A R Rahman did Vande Maatharam and many more albums. Sreenivas did Ussele Ussele, Malgudi Subha did Paarai, Anuradha Sriram did, Chennai Gal, Pop Shalini, SPB Charan and Devan have also done private albums. Music director D Immaan did Style Style thaan, and Shamma, with singers like Mano and Pop Shalini. And many more singers and music directors have done quite a few amount of non-film works in TFM.

But, comparing to the amount of music videos and pop singers, non-film works in Mumbai, we so not have many such works in TFM and south india? What could be the reason? Is this a healthy sign? Should we encourage pop album in TFM, won't it be more of a creative freedom for musical artists?
