It is a OK album.Nothing very great about it.
The positive thing about this album is there is a marked change in music orchestration-an improvement compared to his previous works
"thottu thottu" (7/10)
harish no doubt has a very good voice. But it seems as if he had to strain very much for the song "Thottu Thottu".The music arrangement reminds you of vidyasagar songs though.
"18 vayathil"(5.5/10) -
yuvan should stop singing fullstop :-).
"devathaiyai kanden"(7/10)- same strained voice of harish.it looks as if the tune was composed when the MD yuvan was sleeping. There is nothing extraordinary about the tune.
Theme Music (!!!) (4/10)
Nowadays,it has become a fashion to have a theme music for every film. This film is no exception .The theme music just leaves you confused wondering what it is all about! The theme music should be able to convey something like say the love story theme from 1970s classic "love story" or the matrix theme music which was eclectic in nature.I am sure that the director of the film would have said "yuvan, oru theme music ethavathu irundha
nalla irukkum".Summa oru random tune pottutu theme musicnu solrathu ,aniyayam!!!!At least if the random tune was good, one could appreciate it.But this tune was pathetic..!
"manasu rendum"(8/10)-The song starts really well .shankar mahadevan has done his best. But the tune is sooo unimaginative! It is like ...take a english song..appadiye tunea copy adichu potta mathri irukku..:-)).ithukku ethukku yuvan?!
"nenjodu"(9/10) - piano piece in the beginning is really good.it starts really well..i thot it was a really good song..good vocals...#1 song in the album.
"kathal mattum .."(8/10)-good song..but would have been much better if unni menon had sung i suppose.
Overall the album gets a 7/10 .

1. u could have commented on my review.u didnt.
2. i dont believe in blindly liking a album just because it is by yuvan.
3.deva songs are equally bad.at least yuvan gives some 2 or 3 good songs in a album that are to an extent original.deva is a god in copying songs. But deva does have some very good songs to his credit. I loved aasai and nerukku ner
4.Unmaiya sonna ennayya kovam.ungala mathiri aalunga jing juk podara varaikkum tamil music industry thirundhadhu da saaaami!

well, after a very long time, a wonderful album has come out.it is so much of an effort so that you could just wonder how hard could people work to make an album a hit..
i just bought it with out expecting anything..i heard once and some thing touched me inside..i heard it again and some thing was moving inside..i heard it again and god it is so nice i just want to hear it for the times to come..
song 1: devathai kandaen: it is a simple ballad..very good lyrics..noboy can imagine that sad song could be like this..harish is simply wonderful..10/10
2: manasu rendum: again classical example of yuvans capablity to mix western and classical..where the vocals are classical the back ground music is western..great song..particularly the second bgm is outstanding..some arabian touch ..violins,drums everything mixing to give us a great feel..sankar mahadeven is like god..when he sings we melt..a real world class song 10/10
3: nenjodu: unnikrishnan and sujatha creat magic..bagpiper is wonderful..particularly when sujatha finishes her portion and unni starts you can feel the tears inside your eyes..sujatha could have sung better.. but the orchestra is superb 9/10
4: theme is very short to comment on
5: kaadhal: i tell you..vijay yesudas is going to make waves..this song has its own class..when you listen to it in the evening you will fall in love..great song 10/10
6:thottu: wow...lyrics are just wonderful...listening to all these stupid film songs this comes really as a treat..muthukumar did an amazing job..his comman of language is wojnderful..chart topper 10/10
7: 18 vayathil: i object to some of the lyrics..but the music is nice..this will be played in clubs in discos..nice try in trance..first time..9/10
over all best i have heard in last ten years...go for it
